Muscle Poems

Revenge of the Heard

By and by a woman who writes love poems to men

God sees down the years,

But we don’t.

Things shift as we make choices

Decisions in our minds

Are always fraught with voices.

Times we’ve fought, then forgotten

Licking wounds until

You find you lack the taste.

We take great Risk and Tragedy

Displays of Speed and Strength

We touch the edge of self destruct

We all have it

To overcome it is just enough,

And we must. And we must.

Love and War exist together

Our climate change is in the weather

Whether or not we fight together

We come to see there is forever.

Forever time, God sees down the years

We cannot if the future lays with fear

We’ve got to trust, we’ve got to trust.

That things can always get better.

Mother Nature lives in our bones

Until we’re tested we never know

Our carnal instinct, our primal fear

The rage we hold and grieve and fear

Such transcendence we seek to find

Beauty a reminder of what we left behind.

Our struggle is to try to live fully

Before we reach the Other Side

The problem is we have an

Eastern Body with a Western Mind.

We share a Reality, and keep doing time with the past.

The present moment we fear exposes us sheer

To the love we want for us but lack.

There is suffering, there is wholeness

Our hearts dwell at home with the homeless.

We display but one version of ourselves

To live with a condition is to be fully human,

Yourself.
