Muscle Poems

Revenge of the Heard

By and by a woman who writes love poems to men

I was dancing

With nobody I knew

I was uncomfortable

Because you were that same way, too.

There was a long song

Between me and you

If we could have danced

It’d be all over, through

If I dance

The Earth throws us up

I grow up

To not stop the dance

If you dance

You smile

If you dance

I hum

If we dance

I’m no longer the only one

I was dancing

With nobody I knew

My life’s not easy

There’s no one

There’s no one

Each night I go out,

One missed chance or two

My life’s not easy

Because there’s plenty

Of those, too.
