Muscle Poems

Revenge of the Heard

By and by a woman who writes love poems to men

The dryer never closes

There’s a hole in my pocket

The washer has a socket

But I found my missing sock.

I threw my cell phone

In the repeat cycle

Found a dollar bill.

I found a third sock

And I ran three feet

And fell.

The laundry is a fix-it.

It’s an old lottery ticket

Clothes don’t match with mold

And Superman panties

And old hairs

Looks like I’m going organic.

One day

When I’m dressed

I’m going somewhere.

The coffee stain

From that day at Starbucks

Never goes out.

I’m stuck, my money burned

A hole in my pocket.

In today’s world,

My laundry is a sonnet.

The dryer never dries the first time

The wash cycle undermines

My nighttime.

The laundry is a fix-it.

Clean it up,

Then kick it.

I need more change

The timer’s ring

Got my name

Where’s the cat?

Where’s that cat?

Holy Shit!

What did it?
