Muscle Poems

Revenge of the Heard

By and by a woman who writes love poems to men

I was dancing

With nobody I knew

I was uncomfortable

Because you were that same way, too.

There was a long song

Between me and you

If we could have danced

It’d be all over, through

I.

I was dancing
With nobody I knew

I was uncomfortable
Because you were that same way, too.

There was a long song
Between me and you

If we could have danced
It’d be all over, through

If I dance
The Earth throws us up

I grow up
To not stop the dance

If you dance
You smile
If you dance
I hum

If we dance
I’m no longer the only one

I was dancing
With nobody I knew
My life’s not easy
There’s no one
There’s no one

Each night I go out,
One missed chance or two
My life’s not easy
Because there’s plenty
Of those too.

If I dance

The Earth throws us up

I grow up

To not stop the dance

If you dance

You smile

If you dance

I hum

If we dance

I’m no longer the only one

I was dancing

With nobody I knew

My life’s not easy

There’s no one

There’s no one

Each night I go out,

One missed chance or two

My life’s not easy

Because there’s plenty

Of those too.

Sound went crazy for us

The sound of something so Loud!

A love of more core and density

Lithe with a levity

That ever was, that we didn’t see.

Like a technical precision

In making a decision.

A sincerity so nimble, love came over me.

Like a feather in the thumbs

A song with a chorus so Heavenly

Sustaining deep strength and fidelity.

Sound went crazy for us

The sound of something so loud

Buried down in the heather

The whisper profound.

Fumbling correctly

With temerity

Love haven dug in the stubborn ground

The longing sounding so loud

All along

Love owns song

Found us strong

He held it to him

Held up by a whisper

Longing all gone

All along

His own song

Found him strong

He held it to him

Held up by a whisper

Longing all gone
