Muscle Poems

Revenge of the Heard

By and by a woman who writes love poems to men

From out of the Past,

You, the stimulus

Have the effect of making women

Project onto you (fearful scenarios).

Women are competitive

And can be vindicated.

I, worried (struck) from the actions/reactions

Of the Present Moments’ others

Call on the Indifference of Mr. Eliot, please!

As to Rise from the future scenario

That can imply (the possibility)

That a wounding, that repeats itself (but onto whom?)

Based off of the understanding

And of what I misunderstood before.

(No more, Lenore!)

And thus the Good Lord’s rotten Guidance:

“Do not associate with WOMEN thus,

So as to protect yourself emotionally

And mortally.”

We, as I may fondly say of Humanity,

Are wounded enough,

And are looking to take a bit of a bite

Out of each and every one of us.

And the Angel, with its imposition of delight, sang thrust:

“Next and next and only next. For God loves you,

And that, my friend,

Is the King of Dust

And the kiss of Death.”
