Living in Fear:
Contracting sinews, chemicals fleeing into fibers of rot. Fear is needless and unnecessary, though it hurts like Hell for a reason. Full of need and necessity, nerves assaulted, unnameable threat, vigilance with no end, eternity’s futility, a rabbit’s readiness, survival’s fuel, a bird’s reflex, the scent of assault, the eventual absence of assault, a fake attack felt as real in the body, the crying out of memory, an animal’s spring, a spinal joust, a chemical system’s speed, adrenalin’s flame.
