Revenge of the Heard

By and by a woman who writes love poems to men

I live in a fire

The flames engulf me

I live in a fire

The flames engulf me

My cauterizing heartache

I drive in the night

My aches are frozen

But they won’t get me

I live in a fire

The flames engulf me

I live in a fire

The flames engulf me

No lament for old things

Abandonment will free me

No tears enough can hold me

I have never known me

I teach the night to heal me

I live in a fire

I run, don’t close me.    X2

They might remember

But I’m gone

They might be singing after me

Afraid to choke me

A death to cloak me x2

I live in a fire

I live in a fire

They live in a sieve

Without the hint of deception

You are deceived

Without a clue

My innocent

You are my pray

Like weapon kids

Running from their houses

I will

I will

I will

Because

They kill

They kill

They kill

Them and again

And again and again

Down fascination street

Fan the flame

Of a fiction

Only those who lie

Believe.

The ghost who was

Was never there

Yet again,

It was coming

Into a train

Look into a house

See out a window

There is no door

If there’s smoke

There they go!

Weapon kids, fly!

Out of the cauldron

Seeds from the smoke

Let their mothers choke

Left behind

They’re worries.
