The wind blows hard
Puffing up
Marilyn’s curtains.
The blinds get
Turned down, though,
Like eyelids.
I hear the sound
Of eyes rolling
And the creak of a
Woman’s frown.
The light inside
Is blaring
People on the street
Are staring
The man in the car
Is leaning back
Checking under
The hood
Of his own dashboard
Isn’t he?
